I Like what chance provides us with when using unmeasured techniques. By placing all my thoughts, collected imagery and conversations down, I feel it allows me to play much like a girl with her dolls house or a boy with his bucket of toy soldiers and Lego. I miss Lego. Maybe I will get some. I am less precious about the image in my new works and instead, I am enjoying the process and construction side of things more and more.

TaaP - collaboration show - Penzance

The exhibition runs from 9th March - 2nd April 2012.

Based in Cornwall, TaAp is the collaboration of four artists: Richard Ballinger, Sam Bassett, Jesse Leroy Smith and Chris Priest. With an emphasis on narrative and the tangible quality of paint, each artist contributes to the imagery of every painting with references to art, politics, commercial culture and dark humour. It becomes a layering of experience and a process of alliance. All 4 artists attack each poster with immediacy which keeps a unique freshness and sense of mystery.

This exhibition is the follow up to their hugely successful "Possessed Possessions" exhibition at The Exchange Gallery, Penzance in 2010.

Happy Medium - mixed show - London

Happy Medium presents a selection of artists whose works bridge the gaps between process and styles. Materials, mediums and subject matters are deliberately mixed, cross pollinating ideas from Art History and contemporary culture, both recycling the old and innovating the new, pushing visual boundaries, and making art purely for the love of discovery.
